A summit is a gathering of leaders from across the globe to discuss important issues. Usually, they are led by a group of heads of state or government. The goal is to find solutions for the most pressing global challenges.
The Summit’s annual conference brings together the world’s leading anti-hate experts from diverse fields and disciplines: public policy organizations; technology and platform companies; academia, including students and researchers; law enforcement and prosecutors; mental health professionals; community activists and organizers; journalists; and the families of victims and survivors of hate crimes. This rich mix of perspectives inspires collaboration and develops new ideas to combat the rising tide of hate-motivated violence.
In addition to tackling the core business of advancing science, the Summit will explore the many ways in which science is impacting our everyday lives. This year’s event will showcase how the work of our scientists can contribute to addressing a broad range of critical challenges and building a better future, from preventing disease to improving infrastructure.
The Summit will also address a variety of other global priorities, such as advancing a more inclusive world economy, improving societal resilience and resolving major security concerns, and regulating emerging technologies. The meeting will take place at the World Bank’s headquarters in Washington, DC. Recordings of all sessions will be available online. This year’s Summit is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the Government of Canada.
